Gather wildflower seeds, construction paper, and water to craft your own seed pods (and get your child outside for a fun, hands-on activity). Gift the pods to friends and family and plant some yourself to watch the beauty of nature bloom right in your own backyard.
Materials
3 wild flower seed packets
Colored construction paper
3 glass bowls
Water
Step 1:
Select three different colors of construction paper.
Step 2:
Shred each piece of paper and place each color in a separate bowl. Add water and let sit until paper gets pulpy and soft, about 30 minutes.
Step 3:
Pour one packet of seeds into each bowl. Mix.
Step 4:
Form the paper into small balls roughly the size of a quarter, mixing colors as you wish.
Step 5:
Plant seed balls in a pot or directly in your garden.
Make sure to check on the growth of your seed pods throughout the spring. Your children will love watching their flowers bloom!
