“Researcher George Barna once stated that every dimension of a person’s life experience hinges on his or her moral and spiritual condition. Think about that it: What you believe and where you aim your heart determines the direction and outcome of your entire life for eternity. Read it again: What you believe and where you aim your heart determines the direction and outcome of your entire life for eternity. Eternity is at stake.”- Michelle Anthony
Winnemucca Sand Dunes
Here you will find forty miles of sand dunes. You can even camp here. While we came to run around and walk the dunes, most come with off-road vehicles or terrain vehicles. We don’t own a off road vehicle but those who do and come here have one great adventure.
Located 8 miles north from the town Winnemucca.
Paradise Valley
Paradise Valley in Winnemucca is a great place to hike and stroll around. When you’re driving around, you will want to get out and stretch your legs. Sure, you can go to the rest area but there is something wonderful about changing your scenery and moving your body. I don’t know how truckers do it. Sitting in their car for hours upon hours is hard.
Metropolis Ghost Town
We have been to a lot of ghost towns but this one is by far one of our favorites. You’ll be one of the only ones here. Now this ghost town is different from others because it didn’t grow due to finding gold or silver. Instead, it started in hopes to grow wheat but did not last long due to problems with water right.
You can still see the gorgeous Lincoln school arch standing.
Located at Wells, NV 89835.
Rhyolite Ghost Town
Ghost towns are pretty cool to explore. This ghost town doesn’t have a lot of buildings left. You can see what once used to be a three-story bank building and a part of a jail.
This is a prime example of people chasing happiness known as gold. Rhyolite declined as quickly as it rose. When people move somewhere because of an opportunity or fear, they don’t end up staying long. This town lasted only eight years. Movies such as The Island, The Air Mail, Cherry 2000, Six-String Samurai, Delusion, and others have used Rhyolite as a filming location. The buildings here are fenced off and this place is packed with people.

International Car Forest
It is not every day you see a garden of forty vehicles sticking out of the ground. Michael Rippie likes to call it a “forest of junk cars.” Majority of the cars are planted vertically in the ground. It is called the last church because Rippie believes it is a “representation of the last church being inside each of us. ”
It can be windy here. When you enter you will find a small information area. It is free to explore the international car forest of the last church. There is a donation box. They ask that the artist is respected when visiting by respecting the art and not adding to the existing art. You can drive up to the art and get out and explore this unique place.
Located at: 1111 East Crystal Avenue. P.O. Box 5, Goldfield, Nevada 89013.
